soundblaster live gameport

anyone got a soundblaster Live! gameport to work in Vista yet? I do alot of MIDI thru it. . .I've installed XP drivers so I can use the soundfonts but no gameport drivers seem to work. . .

Gini, Did you get your microphone to work with Vista? I have Soundblaster Live Value (Dell) and the sound works fine but I have no mike at all and have tried everything to try to get it, including installing winXP drivers (didn't work any better) and some modified drivers that also didn't get my mike working. I'm not sure other inputs work, either, (such as Line in) as I haven't tried it. The device control says only the speakers are working.

I experimented extensively with SoundBlaster Live! Value, and traded email with Creative. Bottom line: That card will not be supported in Vista - beyond basic function - and you're not likely to get the Game Port or various utilities to work. See...

Has anyone tried installing the audigy beta drivers that Creative does have on their web site for the Live card? I imagine they will not install, but sometimes hardware is close enough to work with other drivers: I did it for my printer and it worked.
